Kuujjuaq, Quebec December 21, 2012-As in previous years boxes and boxes of shrimp are being distributed to communities in the 14 villages. Each beneficary household receives a kilo of shrimp provided from Makivvik’s shrimp fishery worth about $90-thousand dollars.
The communities have also received $8-thousand dollars each to go towards Christmas activities like games and festivities .
Air Inuit is providing food baskets to the Nunavik Communities worth $250-thousand dollars. This money is sent to the communities for distribution to help put food on the table for the elderly and less fortunate.
And as usual a favorite in many of the Christmas games : free passes on Air Inuit and First Air are being made available as prizes in many of the games provided by organizations .
Makivvik President Jobie Tukkiapik and the executives of the corporation would like to extend the very best of Christmas and a new year beneficial to all of the people of the Arctic.
