The NEAS Group is composed of three entities: Nunavut Eastern Arctic Shipping Inc., Nunavik Eastern Arctic Shipping Inc., and NEAS Inc.

Established in 1998 and headquartered in Iqaluit, Nunavut Eastern Arctic Shipping Inc. is majority owned by local Nunavut Inuit businesses. Its mission is to reliably deliver superior marine transportation, marshalling, packaging and container services for customers across the Baffin, Kivalliq and Kitikmeot regions of Nunavut.

Nunavik Eastern Arctic Shipping Inc. was established in 2011. It is majority owned by Makivvik. The objective is to deliver superior sealift for the 14 Nunavik communities and to capitalize on emerging opportunities from the Government of Quebec’s Plan Nord. Nunavik Eastern Arctic Shipping Inc. is committed to significantly increasing NEAS business across Nunavik.

NEAS Inc. is the operating company and is owned jointly by Makivvik and Transport Nanuk Inc., a joint-venture between Logistec Corporation and The North West Company.

The NEAS system of containerization has revolutionized the movement of goods, increased safety and efficiency, and reduced environmental impacts. NEAS offers loading services for 20ft containers. We also offer the largest cargo lift capacity available.

NEAS, through the services of the NEAS Cargo Service Centre, offers packaging and container services. This includes crating, bundling, strapping, palletizing, bagging, marking, weighing and/or marshalling. Such packaging ensures safe transport of your cargo.

NEAS generates meaningful participation for local Inuit in the essential marine transportation business, including local training, employment, job promotion as well as vital ownership opportunities.
