Kuujjuaq, Quebec, January 23, 2014 – The Board of Directors of the Makivvik have welcomed 2 new executive members to the organization. During a meeting on January 21 the board appointed the two new executives to various files and subsidiaries.
Adamie Delisle-Alaku of Salluit will carry out the position as the Vice President, Renewable Resources Department while Andy Pirti from Akulivik takes the seat as Treasurer. They will both serve a three-year term in their new positions as they were elected last week in a Nunavik wide election.
Makivvik President, Jobie Tukkiapik says he looks forward to working with the new executive members. “I’m proud to welcome both Adamie and Andy to our executive committee. I know they are both well educated, experienced and extremely dedicated to the Inuit of Nunavik” says Tukkiapik.
The Makivvik files handed over are not new to the recently elected. Prior to his election Adamie Delisle-Alaku served, as assistant to the Vice President Renewable Resources while Andy Pirti was a financial advisor the Treasurer of Makivvik.
