Liaison Officer

Job Description:

Reports to:                                   The Director of Reaching Home and Urban Inuit in the President’s Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and support the Frontline Workers;
  • Plan and manage the schedules of the frontline workers to ensure service coverage and avoid breach of service;
  • Reports information from the field to management and ensures that management direction is properly communicated;
  • Liaises with partner organizations providing support and services to urban Inuit, including homeless, and facilitates coordination according to each party’s mandate;
  • Keep up-dated information on culturally appropriate services, programs, and activities for urban Inuit;
  • Upon request, participate to technical and service-level committees with regards to the improvement of the quality of life of Inuit in Montreal;
  • Be available to travel within the city;
  • Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • College Diploma or equivalent experience related to the position;
  • Four (4) to six (6) years’ experience in a related field;
  • Good communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages: Inuktitut, English and/or French;
  • Good computer skills : Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.);
  • General knowledge of Inuit, Inuit traditions and cultural knowledge and understanding;
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability;
  • Ability to manage teams and individuals;
  • Demonstrate ability to work in a diverse environment;
  • Security Clearence is required.
