Human Resources Clerk – Construction Division
Job Description:
Reports to: The Human Resources Coordinator in the Construction Division in the President’s Department.
Responsibilities:
- Work within Makivvik’s Construction Division – a non-profit organisation which is responsible for implementing the Inuit Housing Construction Program in Nunavik. Its main objective is to build quality housing while maximizing employment opportunities for Nunavik Inuit, providing training and promoting Nunavik’s local economy as much as possible;
- Assist the HR Coordinator with recruiting of construction employees including:
- Posting;
- Reception/analyze of applications;
- Calls applicants;
- Background checks, coordination of medical exams;
- Collection of documents;
- On-boarding of employees;
- Redaction of contracts;
- Registration in the internal system (Maestro©) and CCQ on-line system;
- Ensure liaison and assist payroll on-demand;
- Assist the HR Coordinator with applications of CCQ collective agreements and internal politiques (camp rules, HR directives etc.);
- Be available to travel, as requested;
- Perform other related duties within the scope of the position or as requested by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- College diploma or relevant experience;
- Good communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages: Inuktitut, English and/or French;
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.);
- Knowledge of Nunavik and the Inuit culture and traditions, is important;
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude;
- Demonstrates organizational skills and time management.
